Abandoned Ireland: Forgotten Buildings and their Stories

6th November – 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

£5.00 – £6.50

Join us for an illustrated talk by photographer Rebecca Brownlie, whose passion for photography and abandoned buildings has resulted in the hugely successful Abandoned Ireland books, which unearth the stories and histories of Ireland’s forgotten buildings.

In this talk, Brownlie will use her evocative photography to take us across the threshold of deserted mansions, cottages, convents and hotels, and other fascinating spaces, from Northern Ireland’s oldest linen mill to a manor whose occupants mysteriously disappeared in the middle of the night. She’ll tell the stories of a host of buildings, including The Royal Hotel in Bangor, Learmount House in County Londonderry and The Scala cinema in Keady.
