The Linen Hall is seeking a Project Coordinator for an exciting heritage project utilising our unique collections to engage diverse community groups with a pivotal period of our recent past. This is a great opportunity to connect people with our amazing archives and collections and to work with the great team here at the Linen Hall.

Duration: 1 year

Responsible to: Director

Salary: NJC point 15; pro rata

Hours of Work: 4 days per week

Job Purpose

Specific Duties

  • Recruit community groups, artists, and facilitators for the purposes of focus groups
  • Assist with research to develop agenda for discussions within workshops and focus groups
  • Organise and deliver series of podcasts based on community engagement programmes and outcomes
  • Act as first point of contact for the public, volunteers and stakeholders with queries, and for seeking advice on the project
  • Liaise with relevant staff on the development of engagement, events, and exhibition programmes
  • Manage the project budget to ensure that it meets its targets in all relevant areas
  • Maintain programme records ensuring full compliance with all financial, reporting and audit requirements
  • Provide information for and to assist with reports to funders
  • Collect, analyse, and share audience data/feedback statistics, including box office reports
  • Comply with safeguarding issues
  • May be called upon to assist with other duties as reasonably may be required from time to time commensurate with the grade and purpose of the post. This role will involve working outside normal office hours from time to time

Focus groups:

  • Contact and recruit diverse community groups, facilitators, and artists to participate in each focus group
  • Develop agenda for discussion informed by contemporary issues and Linen Hall collections
  • Oversee and manage delivery of workshops

Podcasts:

  • Develop series of podcasts based on focus group discussions
  • Coordinate podcast recording
  • Ensure podcasts are published and promoted accordingly

Digital:

  • Provide Marketing & PR with relevant information for digital promotion of all project-related activity
  • Add project outcomes to The Linen Hall website
  • Awareness and readiness to deal with online security issues

Person Specification

Essential:

To be educated to degree level in a relevant discipline, particularly history or public history
To have proven experience of education and outreach in a similar heritage, arts or culture project
To have experience of putting together exhibitions
To have experience of oral history projects and knowledge of the legal and ethical principles
To have proven community relations experience and the ability to work in partnership
To have excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
To have excellent IT skills including Microsoft office

Desirable:

To have the flexibility to work outside office hours if required
To have a proven interest in Irish & Local Studies
To have experience in podcast production
To have experience of recruiting, supporting and managing volunteers
