In 1910, in Randalstown, Country Antrim, Lilian Bland made history, becoming the first woman in the world to design, build and fly a biplane. Who Says I Can’t? by Carol Moore reimagines Bland’s life, from her work as a photographer and sportswriter and her defiance of societal expectations to her love of speed and the outdoors and her passion for flying.
Based on actual events and people, ‘Shrieking Sisters’ is a drama that tells the story of Lilian Metge, a member of a well-known and respected Anglo-Irish family, and her journey from peaceful suffragist to militant suffragette. Along with other activists, Metge hatched a plan to bomb Lisburn Cathedral in 1914.
