REHEARSED READING
In 1910, in Randalstown, Country Antrim, Lilian Bland made history, becoming the first woman in the world to design, build and fly a biplane. Who Says I Can’t? by Carol Moore reimagines Bland’s life, from her work as a photographer and sportswriter and her defiance of societal expectations to her love of speed and the outdoors and her passion for flying. Sliding across time frames, the play tells the thrilling
story of how Bland got her beloved Mayfly in the air as well as exploring her difficult life on Vancouver Island in Canada after she married her cousin, Charles Bland, in 1911. Join us for a rehearsed reading of Who Says I Can’t? with Nicky Harley and Gary Crossan.
Suitable only for 15 years and over.
