The Linen Hall’s Theatre & Performing Arts archive is the primary source for theatrical material from Northern Ireland. Our collection ranges from 18th century playscripts to promotional material for current productions, and comprises thousands of programmes, handbills, posters, photographs, cuttings and holdings of unpublished scripts. It houses archives of playwrights such as John Boyd, Stewart Parker, and Christina Reid, as well as ground-breaking local theatre companies such as Charabanc, Kabosh, and Tinderbox.

A digitised selection of material from the Linen Hall’s Theatre & Performing Arts archive, the Digital Theatre Archive includes everything from printed plays of the 18th century, to a large collection of the programmes of numerous theatres, including the Grand Opera House and Lyric Theatre, and local theatre companies. Learn more about the playwrights and performers who have challenged and entertained us via this highly visual and illustrative resource which is invaluable to anyone with an interest in the theatre.
