Substantial Set of Fortnight Magazine For Sale

05 August 2016

The Library is pleased to offer for sale a substantial but incomplete set of the political and cultural magazine Fortnight that was published in Belfast from 1970 – 2011.

This is a rare opportunity to purchase this iconic publication that captured the highs and lows of some of Belfast’s most turbulent years. Nearly everyone who was anyone had their ‘spake’ in the magazine. Fortnight also featured illustrations by some of the legends of graphic art, including Martyn Turner and Blotski.

Alongside the 478 issues of Fortnight (around 65 are missing), we will include in the sale the book Troubled Times: Fortnight Magazine and the Troubles in Northern Ireland 1970 – 91 edited by Robert Bell, Robert Johnstone and Robin Wilson and published in 1991 by Blackstaff Press.

The magazines are in very good condition (many appear unconsulted) save for some of the very earliest, and may be inspected in the Library. A printed inventory is available on request.

All reasonable offers will be considered. Please contact the main reception desk on 028 9032 1707 for more information, or call into the Library.
