Linen Hall Treads the Boards in December With Irish Theatre Exhibition

Irish language theatre company Aisling Ghéar celebrates its 20th year with the retrospective exhibition A Journey in Irish Theatre launching on 4 December. The company has produced and toured a number of top playwrights including Machiavelli, WB Yeats, Tom Murphy, Brian Friel, Marie Jones and others.

Also launching on 4 December, one of Belfast’s leading contemporary artists, Ray Duncan, explores the matters of shape and colour in Some small works.

The December schedule is as follows:
Aisling Ghéar: A Journey in Irish Theatre

Tread the boards of the last 20 years with Irish language theatre company Aisling Ghéar. Photographs, newspaper articles, features, reviews, programmes and various yards of 35mm film feature in this very unique treasure trove of memorabilia. Some small works by Ray Duncan
4 December – 12 January/ exhibition/ free

Regarded as one of Belfast’s leading contemporary artists, Ray has produced abstraction, landscape and figurative work and exhibited in galleries throughout Ireland, London and New York. In this exhibition he explores the matters of shape and colour.
Unlocking PRONI’s prison records with Graham Jackson
Wednesday 6 December/ lecture/ free

Continues the series of lectures by the Public Record Office of Northern Ireland. In this lecture the valuable prison record archive, covering the 19 to late 20 century, is navigated.

Mr Hullaballoo’s Winter Wonderland Show

Full of festive cheer and sure to warm the heart, the audience will be treated to some magical wintertime favourites including Hansel and Gretel and The Elves and the Shoemaker. Mr Hullaballoo will be bringing his merry puppet friends – don’t miss your chance to be part of the fun.
Linen Hall Reading Group

All are welcome to join in the discussion and debate of the selected title of the month. This month’s chosen book is The Power by Naomi Alderman.
