The Bloody Foreigners: How Polish Airmen Joined The Banter with Maciek Bator
Monday 25 July, 1.00pm • Performance Area • FREE (Plus a live online stream for £1)
Northern Ireland was a temporary home to over 100 members of the Polish Air Force stationed here with Royal Air Force and Polish Air Force Squadrons between 1940 and 1945. For some, this piece of land became their forever home, for others a very memorable experience. For us, this is an important piece of the relationship.
This talk by Maciek Bator will help you to discover war and civilian graves, crash sites, memorials, murals, and exhibitions related to the Polish Airmen scattered between County Down and the North Coast. It will also explain the history of the Polish Air Force in the Second World War from September 1939 and the Battle of Britain.
