As part of the United Nations’ 16 Days of Activism, The Linen Hall will host an exhibition of Soroptimist International Belfast’s ‘End Violence Against Women’ banner campaign. We will have banners from the following groups on display: East Belfast Mission, Braniel Community Centre, Cityside Sewers, Hens’ Shed Stranmillis, Hydebank Young Offenders and Soroptimist Belfast and volunteers. We also have some banners in Irish and Italian.
Soroptimist International is a global volunteer movement working together to transform the lives of women and girls and has nearly 72,000 Members in 121 countries. There are 15 Clubs across the island of Ireland that work at a local, national and international level to educate, empower and enable women and girls to reach their potential.
The exhibition is located in the Vertical Gallery and is FREE to attend.
A drop-in session will take place on Wednesday, 4 December, 11 am – 1 pm in the Performance Area on Level 3. Members of the public will be able to speak to volunteers about the Violence Against Women exhibition and participate in a guided tour of the banners. A formal Q&A session will take place at 12 pm.
