Blossom: Contemporary Chinese Painting By Michael Rong-Gen Yin

Michael Rong-Gen Yin, originally from Shanghai in China, settled in Northern Ireland in 2003. Since then, his stunning paintings celebrating nature – from landscapes and flowers to birds and other animals – have revealed to audiences in Northern Ireland the richness and vitality of Chinese painting. ‘Blossom’, an exhibition of over twenty paintings, is a unique opportunity to explore the delicacy and intricacy of Chinese painting, as well as its expressive power and vivid use of colour.

The exhibition launch will take place on Friday 19 September at 4 pm as part of Culture Night Belfast. We invite you to sample some traditional Chinese tea in the company of the artist. Michael will talk about Chinese artistic traditions, the techniques employed in the paintings and the inspiration behind them.
