Join us for another fascinating talk by Róise Ní Bhaoill as she discusses the traditions and rituals associated with Bealtaine, or May Day, the third Festival of the Celtic Calendar.
Beltane was one of four seasonal festivals: Samhain (1 November), Imbolc (1 February), Beltane (1 May), and Lughnasadh (1 August).
Róise will explore the rituals and practices used to protect people, crops and dairy produce at the beginning of summer, including its fires, flitting fairies, May bushes and butter witches.
