1842 Journal of a Passage from Belfast to New York

As part of the USA-NI250 project at The Linen Hall, Senior Library Assistant Seán Corr will present an illustrated talk on the 1842 Journal of a Passage From Belfast to New York. This fascinating handwritten journal from The Linen Hall archives provides us with a detailed account of a six-week journey of the passenger ship New Zealand. Seán will provide an update on his continuing research on the topic, including an intriguing DNA link to the author of the journal, Samuel Birkmire of Carnmoney.
